A: How do I use Talking Number?

Simply dial the access code advertised for the country you want to call followed by the complete international number, starting with the international dialing code. You can view detailed call instructions for further information.

A: Do I have to register or sign up to use Talking Number?

No, you do not need to sign up or open an account to use our service. You can call our access numbers whenever you like from the UK.

A: Are there any administration, subscription or other fees?

No, the price stated on our website for each destination is the service charge in pence per minute, set by Talking Number (inclusive of VAT). Your service provider will charge you an access charge. Please check with your service provider for details of this charge.

A: How are my calls billed?

The charges for calls to the Talking Number access numbers will appear on your normal telephone bill from your phone provider.

A: Can I use Talking Number from any phone?

Yes, our access numbers can be called from any UK phone, and you will be billed at the service charge rate noted for the destination. Your service provider will add an access charge, set by them.

A: When do call charges take effect?

You will be charged from the moment you are connected to our Talking Number international calling service, not from the moment the international call is answered at the other end.

A: Can I use these access numbers outside the UK?

The Talking Number access numbers will only work if dialed from the United Kingdom.

A: When I ring someone abroad will they be charged for the call as well?

No, the owner of the international number will not be charged.

A: What currency are call costs advertised in?

All calls are shown in sterling pence per minute.

A: Why did you change the access code for my country?

Our access numbers have a fixed rate attached to them. We always try to offer the best prices possible and if the price changes, the access code has to change as well. We are constantly negotiating with suppliers for better deals which we can then pass on to our customers.

A: What do I do if I think I have been overcharged?

In short, Talking Number cannot overcharge you. The service charges advertised on our website for all access numbers are within the OFCOM guidelines (the UK telecommunications regulator).

Service providers are at liberty to set and vary their access charges. We have no influence over this charge, nor do we receive a penny extra for any surcharge applied. We advise you to get in touch with your service provider to discuss your billing query. Should your service provider not settle the issue satisfactorily please get in touch with Talking Number customer services.
